Through MOVE DRAW LEARN, children get to enjoy meaningful activities from the comfort of their home in an autism-friendly format.

The entire program has been designed by Seema Ganjoo, autism parent and professional and Ms. Charmaine Aranjo, RCI certified Special Educator. Their combined experience brings depth, practicality, and authenticity to every part of the program.

Rather than being based only on theory, FunTime with Aayush is rooted in real-life work with children — understanding what helps them engage, what supports comfort and participation, and how routines can be built gently over time.

MOVE with Aayush

A guided exercise activity recommended as a gentle part of the child’s daily routine, supporting body awareness, bilateral coordination, primitive reflex integration, and balance. The stop-and-freeze elements also encourage the development of impulse control, an important executive function skill.

This activity is best offered regularly, in a warm and encouraging manner, without pressure or force. Initially, having a parent or family member participate alongside the child can offer reassurance, model engagement, and help the routine feel safe, enjoyable, and easier to follow.

DRAW with Aayush

A step-by-step drawing activity recommended as part of the child’s routine, beginning with collecting materials, drawing along with Aayush, pinning up the finished work in the Art Corner, and saying a few lines about it.

More than a drawing activity, this is a routine that supports task initiation, attention, completion, planning, visual perceptual-motor skills, communication, and confidence. It can be offered regularly in a gentle, encouraging way, without pressure. Initially, a parent or family member may join in to provide comfort and model participation.

This activity is especially meaningful because drawing was once difficult for Aayush too — he would throw crayons and tear paper — but with support and routine, he gradually grew into a confident artist who now creates portraits.

LEARN with Aayush

A story-based learning activity that includes repetitive-style stories, fact books, and social stories to support both language and life skills. Along with building reading accuracy, memory, recall, inference, and prediction, this activity also gently addresses topics that parents often find hard to work on directly — such as habits, social norms, being responsible, friendship, and self-regulation.

The repetitive books support familiarity and prediction, the fun facts encourage curiosity, and the social stories help children understand everyday expectations in a concrete and autism-friendly way.

Best offered regularly as part of the child’s routine, this activity can be done gently and encouragingly, without pressure. Initially, having a parent or family member join in may provide comfort and support participation.

Aayush is a young autistic adult whose journey reflects growth, perseverance, and possibility. His academic path was not linear or easy. Over the years, he moved through different schools, systems, and learning environments before gradually finding the right fit for himself.

With support, determination, and time, he continued to grow in confidence and capability. “It was a journey of finding the right fit, not forcing a fixed path,” shares his mother, Seema Ganjoo.

He went on to take on leadership roles in school, speak publicly at events, and later graduate from FLAME University with a full scholarship, completing his degree in International Studies and Public Policy.

Today, Aayush brings his personality, lived experience, and relatability into FunTime with Aayush. His presence offers children a warm, encouraging role model and gives families a glimpse of what growth can look like over time.

It helps children understand both “what to do” and “how to do it” using Positive Behaviour Support Visuals, making the program unique.

This program is designed for autistic children and teens who benefit from a warm, guided, and structured approach. It supports children who need help with engagement, participation, listening, imitation, and shared activities.

Each week includes three guided Activities — MOVE DRAW LEARN. These can be completed flexibly across the week based on the child’s routine, attention, and readiness, making it practical and easy to follow.

MOVE with Aayush supports body awareness, coordination, balance, and regulation. It also includes “stop and freeze” activities to improve impulse control and help children feel more confident and organised in their movements.

DRAW with Aayush is not just about learning how to draw. It is designed to help children build a simple and meaningful routine around starting, staying with, and completing an activity. In each session, children are guided to:

FunTime with Aayush is designed for autistic children and teenagers, with activities adapted to suit different ages and developmental levels.
The program is currently offered in two groups:

Juniors: approximately 5 to 8 years
Seniors: approximately 9 years and above

Placement is not based on age alone. We also take into account the child’s developmental stage, attention, and level of support needed, so that the experience feels comfortable, appropriate, and meaningful.

No, the program is designed to be visually supportive and accessible for children at different communication levels.

Yes, especially in the beginning. A “do with me” approach helps children feel supported, engaged, and comfortable. Over time, many children become more independent.

For the best experience, families are encouraged to keep a few simple materials ready:

Mat
Water bottle
A fixed/familiar space for doing the program
Printed drawing sheet/activity page
Colour pencils, pencil, and eraser
“My Art Corner” banner printed and pinned up
A comfortable place for listening to stories

A clipboard, extra paper, and a parent or family member nearby initially may also be helpful. The aim is simply to create a prepared and comfortable routine space for the child.

We recommend using the sessions in a flexible but thoughtful way, based on your child’s comfort, attention, and daily routine.

The three parts do not have to be done one after the other in a single sitting. In fact, for many children, it may work better to spread them out across the day or week.

A few helpful ways to use the sessions are:

Exercise before a sit-down activity: Doing MOVE with Aayush first can help the child regulate their body and get more ready for DRAW or LEARN
One activity at a time: Some children may do best with just one activity, followed by a break
Activity + break + activity: For example, MOVE, then a snack or rest break, then DRAW
Different activities on different days: Families may choose to do MOVE daily, and keep DRAW and LEARN for alternate days
Short and successful rather than long and stressful: It is better to do a smaller amount comfortably than to push through too much

Our recommendation is to use the program in a way that feels regular, calm, and achievable, rather than forced. Over time, the child may begin to understand the routine and participate with greater comfort.

In the beginning, a parent or family member may sit nearby or join in to help the child settle, feel reassured, and understand what is expected.
